DIAMOND core drilling company Topdrive Drillers Australia has been operating for more than 35 years and is well-placed to meet the drilling needs of Australia’s mining sector.
Steve Davis established the company in 1976; re-launched as a new entity by Mr Davis’ son-in-law, Peter Milner, it now boasts a growing team and equipment base.
Mr Davis remains active in the business and, with the recent addition of general manager Bob Blakiston, the company is continuing its aggressive growth plan.
“We plan to be service providers of choice in the exploration industry, with a national footprint, and take a professional and business-like approach while we’re at it,” Mr Blakiston said.
Topdrive’s available drill core equipment in recovery sizes PQ, HQ and NQ is complemented by the introduction of specialised equipment for large diameter core drilling, including 6 inch, 8in and 12in capabilities.
The company’s ever-growing equipment list includes modern Hydco 1000 and 700 units, and UDR 650 multipurpose rigs covering both track and truck-mounted configurations. With a wide variety of support equipment, such as lighting towers, communication units and mobile workshops, Topdrive can tailor an equipment configuration for any drill site, even in the most remote areas.
Safety is a key performance objective for the company and its management is investing in systems and training to ensure the highest standards are maintained.
