PUMPING solutions specialist Tyco Pumping Systems recently partnered with dewatering expert Integrated Pumping Solutions to release mining specification diesel powered dewatering units for the Australian mining industry.
The units, which are based around the new Southern Cross SXSHH high head dewatering pump, are mounted on a rugged steel skid that incorporates a 4000l fuel tank for a 750 kilowatt turbocharged Cummins diesel engine controlled by a digital electronic engine management system and diagnostic system.
The units also incorporate an automatic vacuum-operated, self-priming unit which provides rapid and reliable priming in a wide range of applications and operating conditions.
The SXSHH high head dewatering pump is the latest in a range of Southern Cross slurry and solids handling pumps which have been released in the past 18 months to meet the requirements of the Australian mining industry.
The pump features a durable, industry specific wet end and replaceable wear liners, heavy-duty grease or oil lubricated bearings and packed gland shaft sealing with an expeller arrangement fitted as standard, or optional mechanical seals.
The pump units are designed for pumping dirty water containing solid particle sizes of up to 50mm.
The pumps have impressive performance capabilities that allow them to transfer water at heads of up to 210m, with comparable flow rates.
The skids, designed and manufactured by Integrated Pumping Solutions, feature a heavy duty reinforced steel construction with Bisalloy wear plates on the underside, front and rear nudge bars and tamper proofdrag chains.
The fully assembled units are designed to provide reliable performance and safe operation in pontoon-mounted applications, and feature a specially designed pump base that facilitates the lowest centreline in its class.
Tyco Pumping Systems and Integrated Pumping Solutions will continue working together to develop further dewatering solutions utilising the extensive range of Southern Cross pumps.
