THE provision of surveying and planning services for the construction and maintenance of Carrington and Kooragang Coal Terminals has created a business relationship of mutual benefit. The growth of Port Waratah Coal Services (PWCS) through continuous expansion has been matched by the growth and development of Monteath & Powys.
A staff of 65 professional surveyors, planners, engineers and drafting specialists are employed within Monteath & Powys’s Newcastle and Gunnedah offices.
The role of the company includes setting out of all construction works, completing surveys for maintenance and monitoring of structures and assets, property and easement surveys, photogrammetric surveys, and precise engineering reports for machine alignment and maintenance.
As part of the full-time project team, Monteath & Powys’s survey group provides built dimensions of existing terminal structures to enable design and construction of the current expansion. Monteath & Powys is currently engaged in providing topographic information to PWCS for the planning and design of all future expansion proposals, and continues to adopt and develop new technologies.
The company benefits from the integration of the highest safety and quality standards required of a preferred contractor at PWCS, and looks forward to continuing growth in its professional relationship.
