GENERALLY, a company’s name change does not warrant headline news; but when the company in question is the mining industry’s leading truck and bus hire company, people want to know.
A transport industry leader for more than 21 years, McLarens Hire & Drive began as a small family-owned business servicing schools, sports clubs and small private functions such as hens and bucks parties.
As WA’s mining and construction industries have boomed, so has McLarens’ business and the company was very proud to recently announce a change of name to McLarens Fleetspec Hire.
The company now boasts a fleet of more than 100 trucks and buses, all of which meet the strictest specifications of mining and construction clients – every vehicle in the McLarens fleet conforms to the highest possible safety standards.
All vehicles are serviced and maintained to meticulous benchmarks by a dedicated in-house team, led by McLarens’ owner Daiman Clarke, who is a mechanic by trade. Mr Clarke said that the decision to re-name the McLarens business was a reflection of the company’s growth. “We lost my father, who started this business, to cancer in 2000, and changing the name of the company he loved so much was not easy,” Mr Clarke said.
“But with our expansion in the mining and construction industries growing at a rapid rate, it was fitting that our business name reflect our vision for the future.”
Another reflection of the growth of McLarens is the newest additions to the company’s fleet: new 45-seat and 34-seat full mine-spec King Long buses; and a new 8t Hino 4×4 crew cab truck, fitted with Falling Object Protection and Roll-over Protection systems to BHP Billiton mine specifications.
The company is also anticipating the delivery of 8t and 12t Hino 4×4 crane trucks, both fitted to BHP Billiton mine specifications, in the coming months.
