AS the world’s largest industrial auctioneer, Ritchie Bros conducts hundreds of unreserved public auctions around the world each year, selling billions of dollars worth of heavy
equipment for clients in the mining, construction, transportation and other industries.
Ritchie Bros takes pride in getting big results for sellers: its average auction features more than 1200 equipment items from 175 consignors. The selection of equipment available, together with Ritchie Bros’ reputation for conducting fair, honest unreserved public auctions, attracts an average of almost 1500 local, national and international bidders to each auction.
Competing on-site and online bidders from around the world ensure sellers achieve global market value for their assets. Sellers also benefit from certainty of sale, with every item sold to the highest bidder on auction day.
At unreserved public auctions in Brisbane and Geelong in June, Ritchie Bros sold a combined total of more than $61 million worth of heavy equipment and trucks, including a 2007 Caterpillar D9T crawler tractor sold for $640,000 to a buyer from South Australia; two Volvo A25F 6×6 articulated dump trucks sold for $310,000 each to a buyer from Japan; and a 2007 Caterpillar 775F rock truck sold for $600,000 to a buyer from WA.
The two auctions attracted buyers from as far away as Fiji, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, Ireland and the US. Ritchie Bros has a huge US mining and earthmoving equipment auction coming up in Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina, on September 27 that will also be simulcast in Las Vegas following MINExpo.
