The first drilling program at the Yundamindra gold project in 10 years is set to begin to follow up outstanding near surface drill intersections.

Situated 65km southeast of Leonora in WA, the Yundamindra project is held 80% by Metalicity (ASX:MCT) and 20% by joint venture partner Nex Metals (ASX:NME).

Prior to 1970, Yundamindra had high grade production of 74kt @ 19.3g/t gold for 45,000oz with structures hosting visible fine gold mineralisation within laminated quartz veins.

Previous significant results include 8m @56.36g/t gold from 44m, 1m @ 48.1g/t gold from 12m and 2m @39.49g/t gold from 31m.

The most recent drilling, which was undertaken more than a decade ago, was shallow with this work offering Metalicity an opportunity to confirm and extend the known mineralisation occurrences within the area.

Additionally, field work has identified multiple mineralised trends as well as immediate drill targets at the Landed at Last and Pennyweight Point prospects.

Metalicity will focus its maiden drilling at Yundamindra on the western line and Landed at Last which as returned significant intersections from the limited shallow drilling.

Metalicity managing director Justin Barton commented on the drilling program.

“The Yundamindra gold project has not seen any drilling in over a decade and even then it has historically only seen limited shallow drilling yet delivered significant intercepts, and offers an opportunity for Metalicity to confirm and extend the known mineralisation occurrences within the area, whilst targeting new discoveries,” he said.

“Metalicity’s maiden drilling program at the Yundamindra gold project will initially focus on the western line with highly prospective Landed at Last prospect, which have returned significant historical intercepts that remain open along strike and at depth.”

Final approvals are expected in the coming weeks with drilling anticipated to begin immediately after.
