WHEN Alice Springs-based Centre Labour Force (CLF) was established in August 2006 it was a small office with two staff and directors administrating a 200-strong contractor workforce annually.
During its time in operation, the company’s Alice Springs branch has grown to employ eight full-time staff and places more than 650 contractors each year Australia wide.
Within its first 12 months of operation, CLF established a second office in Brisbane; in 2008 an opportunity became available for the company’s directors Peter and Chris Jackson to expand their business with the inception of a new division, RecruitmentNT, which provides recruitment for all industries in the Northern Territory.
CLF expanded to Darwin in 2009, opening an office in Woolner, and by 2011 a decision was made to merge all of its businesses together and form the CRI Group.
Today, CRI provides staff placements for a range of sectors including administration, automotive, building and construction, civil contracting, electrical, gardening and horticulture, hospitality, mining, retail/wholesale and transport.
In the past five years CRI has won the Northern Territory Small Business Champion Award three times: the award for New Small Business in 2008; the 2009 Business Services award; and the Specialised Small Business award this year.
CRI and its associated companies promote the values of local jobs for local people and operate with a commitment to supporting local economic growth. CRI’s employees are passionate and committed and, as a group, have many years of combined experience in the health sector and construction and mining industries.
