SYDNEY-based Igloo Shelters has supplied complete container and shelter packages around Australia and overseas for more than 10 years.
The Igloo shelter design not only allows for an efficient and inexpensive alternative to a standard fixed building but also enables easy set up, dismantle and relocation – ideal for anyone looking for portable shelters, roofing or temporary cover solutions.
Igloo Shelters operations manager Joe Caruana said being a subdivision of Price and Speed Containers enabled the company to deliver modified shipping containers to act as workshops, site offices and lunch rooms, combined with a high quality, multi-purpose shelter structures.
“The shelters are made from a curved structural steel framework covered by a unique PVC coated fabric, rather than the traditional PE tarpaulin or pure PVC material,” Mr Caruana said.
“The material is hard-wearing, completely weatherproof, UV resistant and the steel framework is powder-coated to give it a long-lasting, durable finish.”
Price & Speed began trading in 1990 with the core business supplying secondhand shipping and storage containers to the general public for use as storage sheds, temporary accommodation and modular site facilities.
The company recently built a pop-up Crust Pizza outlet, made entirely from shipping containers. The container modifications took the form of a two-storey pizza bar and lounge. It was easy and affordable to construct, taking just eight weeks.
The shelter’s 750gsm cover comes with a 10-year warranty and can handle a snow load. It is built to endure high winds, making it almost indestructible, and can also tolerate extreme temperatures from as low as 30 degrees Celsius to as high as 70 degrees Celsius.
All fittings, bolts and components are supplied, enabling easy set up and saving on installation costs. Alternatively, the company can install Australia-wide at an extra cost.
