Providing the right transport solutions – Bruce Avery Transport
Bruce Avery Transport is a West Australian owned company operating through-out WA and the Northern Territory, specialising in the Pilbara, Kimberley and Goldfield’s regions right through to Darwin.
With facilities located in South Guildford, Newman, Halls Creek, Kununurra and Darwin (with Port Hedland opening later in 2025), Bruce Avery Transport is well situated to facilitate any transport requirement.
Commencing the company in 1994, Bruce Avery started off as an owner-driver with one Kenworth Prime Mover and two flat top trailers. Over the next ten years, this fleet grew to five trucks and enabled Bruce to step away from full-time driving to concentrate on maintenance, operations, loading and a little relief driving. The company was built from the ground up with values of honesty and hard work, it’s these values that Bruce and his staff strive to maintain to this day.
Today the fleet boasts over 70 Prime Movers and over 300 pieces of trailing equipment including tautliners, drop decks, extendable trailers, side loaders and floats. This allows the team to accommodate a varied range of loads with many options to tackle the most interesting and complicated jobs.
The experienced Operations Team is well versed in all aspects of freight transport. Bruce Avery Transport can tailor their services to your needs and is renowned for bringing organised structure to your transport project through thorough planning and open communication, from start to finish.
The team are committed to providing effective logistical support to the oil and gas, civil, construction and mining industries as well as private clients. Bruce Avery Transport will move just about anything. From large earthmoving equipment right down to a small box, including cars, boats, shipping containers, pipes, you name it! With services including dangerous goods transport, oversized loads, machinery and controlled waste, just about anything is possible.
Currently, Bruce Avery Transport operates a regular weekly service to and from Darwin and Kununurra, as well as a bi-weekly service to the Pilbara. Need something delivered quicker? Hotshot services are also available.
“Being able to manage all aspects of a transportation project means less stress for our clients. We offer full solutions: load planning, lifting services, load restraint, route surveys and permits, risk assessment, transport management and journey plans, whatever you need” said Fred Campagne, Business Development Manager.
“We are continually innovating to ensure we are ahead of the curve, ready to safely, reliably and cost-effectively handle a wide variety of heavy haulage and bulk transport projects for all our clients. We pride ourselves on getting things done. Everyone is dedicated to achieving our clients’ goals.”
Testimonials from clients say a lot, Bruce Avery Transport received this from RCR Mining in regard to their Tanami project:
“Many thanks also to the efforts of Bruce Avery Transport who without incident assisted greatly with load planning and transported over 70 mostly triple road trains across the worst road in Australia during a Covid Pandemic where every load had to have a G2G pass to cross the border and in transit driver PCR testing to access site.
“That’s about 500,000km in total in the extremes of 50-degree heat to wet season floods with very few mechanical issues or unplanned delays.”
Bruce Avery Transport has a company-wide commitment to safety and reliability, currently holding triple ISO Certification, HACCP certification, and WAHVA. Additionally, our drivers are fully inducted at most major mine sites.
Fleet maintenance is crucial to the services provided. Fully equipped workshops at the South Guildford yard and in Darwin allow Bruce Avery Transport to deal with all servicing and repair requirements of the fleet in a timely and efficient manner.
“Keeping the trucks on the road is our main goal” says Jack Avery, Workshop Manager.
“We work together with our drivers to ensure all trucks and trailers are maintained to a high standard. We all take pride in the fleet.”
Bruce Avery attributes his success to his team of dedicated staff and first-class operators stating: “It’s the staff that make us who we are”.
Bruce Avery Transport currently employs approximately 100 dedicated staff members across all depots. A fleet of this size requires committed staff in all areas of the business and, as such, all employees strive to provide a reliable, personalised service to all their clients.
Raelene Heinz, HR and Compliance Manager, further noted “The culture at Bruce Avery Transport is built on a foundation of safety, teamwork and respect. We are committed to creating an inclusive and collaborative work environment where every team member feels valued and empowered.”
Bruce Avery Transport has a deep-rooted connection to the communities they service. The company proudly supports charities, events and local community groups such as the Variety Bash, Camp Quality Convoy, the Kununurra Agricultural Society, the Maslow Project and numerous other causes throughout the year.
Bruce Avery Transport is dedicated to expanding its support for Northern Territory and Western Australian communities while upholding its reputation for exceptional service. Their accessible and friendly staff are ready to assist with your next major move!
