With nearly five decades of Pilbara operations behind them, Byblos Constructions has built a reputation defined by three words: Driven. Dedicated. Dependable. From remote mine infrastructure to operational village upgrades, the company continues to deliver practical, high-quality construction solutions across some of Western Australia’s most demanding environments.

A Foundation Built on Hard Ground

Byblos Constructions Pty Ltd has been a Pilbara-based company since 1976 and remains proudly family-owned by directors Edward and Joseph Rouphael. Over that time the business has grown from a small regional contractor into a trusted delivery partner to major resource clients including Rio Tinto, Sodexo and Monadelphous.

A key part of the company’s strength lies in its connection to the region. Byblos employs a large number of Pilbara residential staff and maintains long-term operational hubs across Tom Price, Paraburdoo and the East Pilbara, supported by its Belmont corporate office in Perth. This local presence allows the business to respond quickly, maintain strong site relationships and deliver projects efficiently in remote operating environments.

Recent completed works for Pilbara Minerals at the Pilgangoora operation demonstrate the company’s capability in design development, remote delivery and self-perform construction. Projects such as the MEM Workshop Dome and the design and delivery of a go-line operational facility highlight Byblos’s ability to construct both specialised structures and functional operational infrastructure within active mining environments.

Fully Integrated In-House Capability

What sets Byblos apart is genuine end-to-end delivery. Civil works, construction, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, controlled waste management, labour hire and plant hire — all in-house, no subcontracting of critical scopes. One team. Full accountability.

“You deal with decision-makers. Every project carries the personal commitment of the Byblos Leadership Team.”

The Bina Bina In-Pit Facilities project for RTIO Sustaining Capital illustrates this capability. Located approximately 219 kilometres from Newman, the project involved the delivery of twenty-two modular buildings incorporating locker facilities for 480 personnel, office accommodation for 62 staff and full electrical and plumbing integration. The project was delivered and commissioned within nine months.

Still Building After Five Decades

Nearly fifty years after its establishment, Byblos continues to expand its project portfolio across Western Australia’s resource sector. A strong forward pipeline includes the Jundunmunnah Village Refurbishment project, a 700-room accommodation upgrade scheduled to continue through to 2026.

Despite the growth, the company’s core philosophy remains consistent: deliver what is promised, even in the most challenging environments.

Dome Shelters — Engineered for the Pilbara

The Byblos Dome Shelters division provides engineered modular shelter solutions for industrial and mining applications, commercial facilities and remote community infrastructure.

Designed for high UV exposure, extreme temperatures and Pilbara wind conditions, these structures are supported by the company’s integrated civil, plumbing and electrical teams, allowing complete installation and service integration through one contractor.

Safety Is Non-Negotiable

Byblos holds a Zero LTI safety record — underpinned by a genuine culture of care. Their HSEQ system is fully aligned to ISO 9001 quality standards. Stop-work authority, pre-start meetings, and near-miss reporting are embedded in every day’s work across all sites.

Byblos is pre-approved by RTIO across all key work categories. They hold Registered Builder Licence 11477, Electrical Contractors Licence EC010470, Plumbing Contractors Licence PL6538, and Restricted Asbestos Removal Licence WARA 133.
