Celebrating 50 years of building the Pilbara
In 2026, Byblos Constructions is proudly celebrating 50 years of delivering quality construction solutions across WA. What began in 1976 as a family-owned regional contractor has grown into one of the Pilbara’s most trusted construction partners, while remaining true to the values established by its founders.
Today, under the leadership of Edward and Joseph Rouphael, Byblos continues to deliver projects for some of Australia’s leading resource companies and government organisations.
The company’s longevity has been built on more than experience. With established operational hubs in Tom Price, Paraburdoo and the East Pilbara, supported by its Belmont head office, Byblos combines local knowledge with a highly skilled residential workforce and fully integrated in-house capability. This strong regional presence enables the team to respond quickly, build lasting client relationships and consistently deliver projects in some of Australia’s most challenging remote environments.
Fifty years on, Byblos continues to expand its portfolio across civil construction, commercial building, mining infrastructure and community projects. While the scale of its work has evolved, the company’s commitment remains unchanged: delivering safe, practical and dependable construction solutions that create lasting value for clients and the communities in which it operates.
Fully integrated in-house capability
Byblos delivers genuine end-to-end construction solutions through its integrated in-house teams. Civil works, building construction, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, controlled waste management, labour hire and plant hire are all managed internally, providing clients with a single point of responsibility and complete project accountability.
“You deal directly with decision-makers,” Byblos general manager John Kearney said.
“Every project carries the personal commitment of the Byblos leadership team.”
This integrated delivery model was demonstrated through the successful completion of the major Village Expansion for a mining client.
The project comprised the installation of 40 new accommodation rooms together with all associated village infrastructure, including service connections, footpaths and supporting civil works. Working within a fully operational accommodation village, the Byblos team carefully planned and staged construction activities to minimise disruption to residents and ongoing site operations.
Mobilising to site on March 23, the project was completed on April 24, with the full scope delivered in less than five weeks. The achievement reflects Byblos’ ability to mobilise rapidly, coordinate multiple disciplines and safely deliver high-quality infrastructure within challenging operational environments.
Still building five decades on
Fifty years after its establishment, Byblos continues to expand its project portfolio throughout WA’s resource and infrastructure sectors. A strong forward workload includes the Jundunmunnah Village refurbishment, a 700-room accommodation upgrade scheduled for completion later in 2026, together with numerous civil, mining and community infrastructure projects across the Pilbara.
Despite continued growth, the company’s philosophy remains unchanged: deliver what is promised through practical solutions, experienced people and dependable project delivery.
Pilbara branch projects
Byblos continues to strengthen its presence across the Pilbara through the delivery of major mining and community infrastructure projects.
One of the company’s current civil projects is the Port Hedland Recreation Precinct, where Byblos is responsible for the complete design, supply and construction of a new community facility. The project includes extensive civil works, stormwater drainage, BMX jump and pump tracks, electrical infrastructure including lighting, switchboards, power distribution and CCTV, hydraulic services, irrigation systems, hard and soft landscaping, shade structures, parkour equipment, fencing, fixed park furniture, site signage and all associated testing and commissioning.
The project highlights Byblos’ capability to deliver complex multidisciplinary infrastructure from concept through to completion under a single contractor.
