Keeping critical equipment moving on site

In mining and heavy industry, maintenance windows are rarely straightforward. Shutdowns, commissioning programs and unexpected breakdowns put pressure on maintenance teams to source specialised equipment quickly, complete the work safely and return critical assets to service with confidence.
For Fluid Line Services, equipment hire is designed around that reality. With more than 40 years of industry experience, the WA-based hydraulic and lubrication specialist provides a range of equipment for temporary hydraulic power, oil flushing, filtration and contamination removal, supported by technical expertise and field-service capability.
Equipment matched to the application
Fluid Line Services’ hire fleet includes portable hydraulic power packs, high-flow flushing rigs, filter skids and specialised oil-conditioning equipment.
Portable hydraulic power packs are available at up to 15kW, delivering up to 100L/min at pressures of up to 350 bar. For oil conditioning, Pall HNP076 systems provide water removal from hydraulic and lubricating oils, while Pall Sentry systems are available for varnish removal from lubrication systems.
For high-flow flushing applications, diesel-powered rigs can deliver up to 3000L/min with filtration. Electric flushing rigs provide up to 500L/min from a 15kW drive, while high-flow filter skids can handle 100L/min and are suitable for heavy gear oils. Smaller Power Flush 2320 filter carts provide a 40L/min solution for applications where portability and controlled filtration are priorities.
This range allows equipment selection to be driven by the maintenance task rather than by a one-size-fits-all approach.
From hire equipment to engineered solutions
Not every maintenance challenge can be addressed with an off-the-shelf unit. Fluid Line Services also designs and manufactures custom filter carts and flushing rigs around a customer’s specific application.
The process begins with understanding the requirements, including the required flow rate, oil type, filtration level and connection arrangement. The result is equipment designed around the system being serviced.
Building reliability into every repair
With up to 10m stripping benches, a 10t overhead crane, in-house machining and a 15kW hydraulic test bench capable of testing large-bore cylinders up to 350 bar, the company’s Perth workshop is equipped to manage cylinders through stripping, inspection, repair, assembly and pressure testing.
Rebuilt cylinders are pressure tested before release, with results data logged for QA/QC records and testing conducted to the applicable design pressure.
Cylinder service exchange
Fluid Line Services offers cylinder service exchange units for a range of mobile earthmoving equipment:
- D10T – Blade Lift, Blade Tilt, Ripper Lift, Ripper Tilt
- D10T2 – Blade Lift + Sensor
- D11T – Blade Lift, Blade Tilt, Ripper Lift, Ripper Tilt
- 777F / 777G / 785F / 789F / 793F – Front Suspension, Hoist, Rear Suspension, Steering
- 16M / 24M – Steering Blade, Blade Tip, Blade Lift, Ripper Tilt, Centre Shift, Side Shift
Mill trunnion seal support
Mill trunnion seal failures can place significant pressure on maintenance teams, particularly when lubrication-system issues threaten production continuity.
Fluid Line Services maintains an extensive range of off-line filtration systems at its Perth and Kalgoorlie facilities to support customers during trunnion seal failures and other critical lubrication-system breakdowns.
These systems provide an option for managing oil contamination while teams address the underlying problem and work towards restoring normal operating conditions. Having filtration equipment available locally can help reduce the logistical delays associated with sourcing support during an urgent maintenance event.
When downtime is costing thousands of dollars per hour, access to suitable equipment, replacement components and responsive technical support can make a significant difference.
Reducing ongoing filtration costs
Alongside breakdown support, Fluid Line Services can help mining operators identify opportunities to reduce ongoing filtration expenditure.
The Parker Par Fit range provides replacement filter elements for Metso, FLSmidth and Hooker Engineering mill lubrication systems. This gives operators another option when reviewing consumable costs across existing installations, without necessarily changing the underlying filtration equipment.
By cross-referencing established systems and identifying suitable replacement elements, Fluid Line Services can help customers assess alternatives that balance operating costs with the filtration requirements of critical assets.
More than just equipment hire
Operating from Perth and Kalgoorlie, Fluid Line Services supports mining and industrial customers with hydraulic products, component repairs, engineering support, filtration, lubrication systems, oil analysis, field service and 24/7 breakdown support.
As a Parker Elite Distribution Centre and authorised Danfoss Distribution Centre for WA, the company provides access to hydraulic, filtration, hose, fitting, pump, motor and valve products alongside its technical services.
Its Perth facility includes an air-conditioned clean room for controlled hydraulic component assembly and testing, while mine-spec field service vehicles are equipped to manufacture hydraulic hoses on site up to 1½-inch, six-wire high-pressure hose.
That combination of equipment, products and technical support can be particularly valuable when maintenance work moves beyond a planned task and into an unexpected repair.
Supporting critical assets
Fluid Line Services also has specialist experience with mill lubrication systems, including bearing lubrication equipment, gear pumps and flow dividers used on fixed plant.
The company maintains an extensive database for cross-referencing Metso, FL Smidth and Hooker Engineering lubrication systems and can build lube pumps and flow dividers in-house. It also maintains off-line filtration systems at its Perth and Kalgoorlie facilities to support clients dealing with mill trunnion seal failures and other lubrication-system issues.
Alongside this, its in-house oil sampling and contamination analysis capability provides another tool for identifying lubrication and contamination issues before they develop into larger equipment failures.
For mining operators, this combination of workshop capability, field support and specialised hire equipment means maintenance teams can access more than individual components or machines. They can access a technical partner capable of helping scope the problem, select the right equipment, undertake the repair and support the asset through its return to service.
In an industry where downtime can quickly become expensive, that integrated approach makes maintenance more practical, responsive and focused on long-term reliability.
