Evolution Mining (ASX: EVN) has moved into a net cash position following a strong March quarter underpinned by higher gold prices and consistent operational delivery.The company generated $406m in group cash flow for the period, finishing the quarter with a $42m net cash position and total cash holdings of $1.37b.Gold production reached 170,000oz for the quarter alongside 11,000t of copper, at an all-in sustaining costs of $2,220/oz.Evolution says it remains on track to meet its FY26 gold production at lower than original cost guidance, with group copper production now expected to come in around the low end of guidance following weather disruptions at Ernest Henry.High-margin operations across the portfolio continued to drive performance, with record net mine cash flows achieved at both Mungari and Red Lake. Mungari delivered 51,000oz of gold for the quarter, while Red Lake maintained steady output above 30,000oz for the fourth consecutive quarter.Evolution managing director and chief executive Lawrie Conway says the results reflects consistent execution and disciplined capital management.“Evolution continues to generate significant cash flows from consistent operational delivery and disciplined capital allocation,” he said.“We have rapidly deleveraged by more than 31% in just over two years, reaching a net cash position by the end of March.”Across the portfolio, Evolution reported no material disruptions linked to the global fuel supply situation, noting existing supply contracts remain in place.The company also advanced several key growth projects during the quarter, including the E22 block cave and coarse particle flotation project at Northparkes and the Bert orebody at Ernest Henry. Meeka Metals begins ore sorting upgrade at Murchison

Meeka Metals (ASX: MEK) has commenced installation of an ore sorting facility at its Murchison gold project in WA, targeting increased processing capacity and higher gold production. The upgrade is expected to lift mill capacity by 200ktpa to 800kpta, resulting in a corresponding boost in gold production. Ore sorting will be applied initially to underground material from the Andy Well deposit, separating higher-grade ore for immediate processing while lower-grade material is stockpiled for later treatment. Test work at Steinert’s facility in Bibra Lake found about 85% of contained gold could be sorted into about 50% of the rock mass, effectively doubling the head grade of Andy Well ore entering the mill. Meeka Metals managing director Tim Davidson says the upgrade represents a low-cost solution to increase production. “We expect this high-return, quick-payback investment to be operational in the September 2026 quarter providing additional processing capacity for ore from our open pits and our second underground mine at Turnberry, commencing in 2026,” he said. Civil works for the $6m upgrade have commenced, with equipment delivery and installation due to begin in the June 2026 quarter. According to the company, the installation offers a faster and lower-cost alternative to expanding the existing processing plant, which would require significantly higher capital investment and longer development timelines. The upgrade is expected to reduce processing costs per ounce, lower tailings volumes and reduce wear on plant equipment by removing waste material before milling. Meeka Metals said further test work is underway to assess the application of ore sorting across other deposits within the Murchison project.

Red Mountain Mining (ASX: RMX) will recommence exploration across its US antimony portfolio, with fieldwork set to begin in Montana this month. Initial work will focus on the Thompson Falls antimony project located on the Montana-Idaho border near the country’s only operating antimony smelter. Planned activities include systematic geological mapping and surface sampling. Rock chip sampling completed last year returned grades of up to 36.5% antimony and 1.12ppm gold. Red Mountain says it has strengthened its technical capabilities by appointing experienced geologist Max Baker as an advisory board member and by engaging Montana-based KC Harvey Environmental to support field operations and assist with regulatory approvals. Additionally, KC Harvey Environmental will assist with initial geological mapping and surface sampling at Red Mountain’s Yellow Pine and Silver Dollar projects in Central Idaho, where historical mining and sampling have indicated antimony, gold and silver mineralisation. The company says it is continuing discussions with US-based consultants regarding potential access to government-backed funding and grant programs. The restart of exploration comes amid increasing focus on antimony as a critical mineral, with both the US and Australian governments highlighting supply constraints and the need to secure domestic sources. Recent policy support in the US, including FAST-41 status for nearby antimony projects, has contributed to renewed activity across the sector.

Terra Metals (ASX: TM1) has observed zones of massive sulphide mineralisation in its first diamond drillhole of 2026 at the Southwest prospect within the Dante project in WA.The hole, SWDD011, targeted a geophysical anomaly identified using downhole electromagnetic (DHEM) surveying, located near a previous high-grade intersection.The company reported that multiple zones of semi-massive to massive sulphides were observed within a 320m mineralised interval dominated by disseminated and net-textured sulphides.Terra managing director Thomas Line saysthe results support the company’s geological model and confirms the effectiveness of DHEM in targeting sulphide mineralisation.“The visual interception of multiple zones of massive sulphides in our first 2026 diamond hole at Southwest is a major exploration milestone and a strong validation of our geological model” he said.“The result provides compelling evidence that we are vectoring into a richer massive sulphide component within the broader Southwest magmatic PGM-Cu-Ni sulphide system.”Assays for SWDD011 are pending and expected within eight to 12 weeks.The Southwest prospect forms parts of the broader Dante project in the West Musgrave region, a large-scale multi-metal discovery of nickel, copper and platinum group elements.
