Austmine launches student internship program Austmine has launched a new student internship program to provide science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) third and fourth-year university students, as well as masters students, with paid internships. For a minimum of 10 weeks of the summer university vacation period, students will get a unique chance to gain hands-on experience in the STEM industries and develop key skills. The internships are part of Austmine’s accelerating women in METS program which accelerates female recruitment and retention in the mining equipment, technology and services (METS) industry through connections of mentors, coaches and internships.
