Bravus Mining and Resources will be cheering up a storm when the Rockhampton Cyclones and Rockets take to Bravus Arena on Saturday (13 April) for the start of the 2024 NBL1 North Season. Bravus Mining and Resources takes groundwater monitoring to new heights at the Carmichael mine

Bravus Mining and Resources’ high-tech approach to groundwater research near the Carmichael mine in central Queensland has earned national recognition in a prestigious industry award. The regional Queensland business has been named a finalist in the Excellence in Environmental Management and Sustainability category at the 2024 Australian Mining Prospect Awards for applying military-grade drone technology to discover and protect previously unknown groundwater springs. Bowen Tennis Association has scored big with a Bowen Rail Company (BRC) grant to support the development of the region’s next generation of tennis stars. The 95-year-old club was one of four recent grant recipients of Bowen Rail Company’s Community Partnership Program, which supports local not-for-profit organisations and community groups with the purchase of small assets that can make a big difference. Bravus Mining and Resources was thrilled to help bring First Nations players from around central and north Queensland together in Rockhampton recently for the annual Warba Wangarunya Rugby League Carnival. MinRes awards $46m contract to Bill Beament’s Develop

Develop Global Limited (ASX: DVP) has been awarded a $46m contract to develop an exploration decline at the Mt Marion lithium mine in WA, about 40km southwest of Kalgoorlie. The contract is expected to start in early 2024 with a term of 18 months. Green light for Samarco

THE Samarco joint venture between Vale SA and BHP Group has been given approval to resume operations at the Germano iron ore plant in Brazil, four years after a fatal dam collapse there. It is understood that 10 of the 12 members of Minas Gerais state environmental council, known as Copam, voted in favour of an operational corrective licence for the mine. Samarco has had its operations halted since the 2015 Fundão waste dam collapse that killed 19 people and resulted in flooding across more than 600km in one of the worst environmental disasters in the country’s mining history. The mining dam failure had affected the downstream Santarem dam, causing a “significant release” of mine tailings to flood the nearby…

First recipients revealed for Carbon Innovation Grants Program

The WA Government has announced the first round of grant recipients under the Carbon Innovation Grants Program (CIGP). This program focuses on cutting-edge technologies to remove, reduce or offset emissions from industrial processes. Nine organisations will share $4.24m in funding to embark on projects in WA which have demonstrated benefits to heavy industry and the reduction of hard-to-abate emissions. The nine companies that will receive the funding include Aurizon Operations, CSBP, CSIRO, Airbridge, First Mode, Australia VRFB ESS Company, Wallis Drilling, Tronox and Sea-Quester Offshore. The money will be used to support the company’s technologies to progress to market readiness and commercialisation in line with the WA Climate Policy.
