Built different. Built in Broome

The go-to for mining, civil and transport maintenance solutions across WA
When the Kimberley delivers 45-degree heat, cyclone interruptions, unforgiving red dust and a supply chain that can stretch for months, it takes a partner who genuinely understands how to keep critical equipment moving.
Kaynar Group has earned the trust of major mining and civil operators across WA by doing exactly that.
Headquartered in Broome with satellite yards across the state, Kaynar is a locally founded, fully integrated provider offering skilled trades, remote workshop capability, parts, logistics, laydown yards and contract mining support. Its strength comes from its people and their ability to bring these services together reliably and efficiently.
Kaynar is proud to attract, support and retain some of the most capable heavy equipment maintenance professionals in WA — from heavy diesel mechanics and auto-electricians to boilermakers and operators. Many of its team members choose to stay because of our culture, our consistency and our commitment to their development.
This capability enables the company to deliver in some of the state’s most challenging environments. Kaynar sources critical parts quickly — even during shutdown periods — and mobilises multi-skilled, mine-ready teams at short notice, establishes remote workshops that are tailored to client fleets and deploys load-and-haul equipment that meets production requirements from day one. These are outcomes Kaynar achieves not because they are easy, but because its systems, experience and people are built for the realities of remote work.
In 2024, Kaynar achieved 50% local Kimberley content and 35% Indigenous employment and remains focused on growing these figures. Its new Broome headquarters and Kimberley maintenance centre, set to open in early 2026, will create additional apprenticeships and trade-assistant roles to support local youth and continue building long-term regional capability.
The Kaynar Group difference
What sets Kaynar apart is the collective strength of its people and the breadth of its operations. With 111 field staff supported by a dedicated Broome-based team, Kaynar keeps fleets moving for 11 major mining clients across the state. Its work spans load-and-haul and contract mining at Kimberley Mineral Sands’ (KMS) Thunderbird project, tailings construction and the newly awarded primary mechanical services contract for a major mining client. Its Broome workshop services everything from 798 haul trucks to light vehicles, backed by Kimberley-tested procurement systems and short-haul logistics solutions that are already reducing freight costs for clients.
Since identifying a service gap in 2018, founder Kyle Ringin — together with co-director Shaylee Greechan — has built a company focused on responsiveness, quality and genuine care for people. This approach has supported significant growth while preserving a strong, family-first culture and a reputation for helping clients overcome challenges in remote locations.
Keeping WA moving — with people who take pride in the work they do
Since 2023, Kaynar have been supplying mobile heavy equipment to KMS and in 2024 its role expanded to include load and haul operations, deploying a fleet of 15 HME units and operators.
In 2025 Kaynar commenced a TSF project at KMS and was appointed as the primary contractor for light/ heavy plant and machinery mechanical services and repairs by the Shire of Broome.
There has been a significant change in the business over the past 18 months which has both required and allowed it to significantly increase its team by 150%.
Kaynar has consciously taken steps to retain its family focused and people first culture through hiring to its values and rewarding team member effort and loyalty through internal promotion wherever possible.
The company recognises that its future commercial goals are reliant on its people goals, and that the region poses challenges and significant competition to its labour market, particularly regarding acquiring and retaining highly skilled people. This is compounded by many major clients and projects having a local employment focus or requirement, in addition to tight-seasonal project timelines.
Kaynar also understands that the next generation of skilled Kimberley personnel will ideally be sourced through its apprentice program and the investment in identifying, attracting and developing local youth is the key to future success.
Future goals are to leverage increased capacity at its new Broome facility to expand its trade and apprentice capabilities, ensuring it keeps required skills and standards embedded into its culture.
As part of this long-term goal of providing employment pathways for local youth into Kaynar employment, the team are developing relationships with local enterprises and organisations to encourage exposure to trades as a career.
Today, Kaynar Group comprises multiple divisions to supply vertically integrated services to support remote operations across WA. As the Kimberley’s trusted provider of mining and civil solutions, its team focuses on delivering client value, innovation and meaningful local impact.
