The Challenge:
- Securing the right ship at the right price in a competitive market where clients have access to vessel owners.
- Dealing with port, road and police authorities, moving, and storing out-of-gauge and heavy lift cargo.
- Securing permits for ports, roads, police, and power lines.
- Moving and coordinating cargo from laydown yards in Newcastle and Brisbane to receive cargo under the ship’s hook within the allocated time window for loading each unit.
- Adjusting the ship’s stowage plan to load all cargo and distribute the weight of the cargo.
The Solution:
Constant communication and coordination with all subcontractors ensured the project progressed according to plan. If not, we had to think on our feet and find alternatives immediately, with safety and commercial considerations being foremost. We kept the client informed at all times about the progress.
The Result:
High-quality services, accompanied by knowledge and experience, made it a commercially viable project for Thriveni, which had previously been considered marginal at best.

So, what?:
Moving such over-dimensional and heavy-weight items within a short time frame and the client’s budget is not a readily available service, even to experienced and well-connected organisations.
