Humma Cranes is approaching its 30-year milestone with a product range built around heavy lift pick and carry cranes that are designed for the conditions mining operators face every day.

Launched in 1996, Humma emerged at a time when the articulated pick and carry crane market was ready for a change. The business was developed around a new design concept aimed at addressing the practical demands of mine site lifting, with a focus on durability, safety and performance in demanding operating environments.

Over the past three decades, that design philosophy has helped Humma build a presence across mine sites in Australia and overseas with a range that includes the Humma 25, 35 and 55, with the Humma 45 scheduled for release in 2027.

The lineup reflects a long-running engineering program focused on lifting capability, manoeuvrability and site flexibility, while maintaining the compact design and practical performance that pick and carry crane users require. The cranes have been used in mining and industrial applications both locally and internationally, reinforcing Humma’s position in specialised lifting environments.

Local design and manufacturing capability are essential to succeeding in a market where operating conditions quickly test the limits of equipment. Humma has the ability to engineer, fabricate and refine cranes, as all cranes are designed and built in Australia by DRA Engineering, part of the DRA Group.

Humma is supported by decades of fabrication, design and heavy industry experience. DRA Group is celebrating 55 years in the design and manufacture of tank farms for oil and diesel storage, along with purpose-built plants and engineered solutions for industrial applications.

Over time, Humma has continued to refine its offering in response to operational needs in the field. Product development has focused on practical improvements that support mine-site safety, lifting performance and reliability, reflecting an approach shaped by customer requirements rather than off-the-shelf design.

As the business moves towards the release of the Humma 45 in 2027, it remains committed to Australian design, specialised engineering and equipment built for the realities of mining and heavy industry.
