After months of speculation, Evolution confirmed rumours in September that it would be offloading the WA mine to improve the quality of its asset portfolio. Ramelius’ annual group production will increase by an estimated 54 per cent to between 195,000oz and 205,000oz. The sale involved an initial $40 million cash payment, and an additional $20 million in cash or Ramelius shares upon a board approved decision to mine the Edna May Stage 3 open pit. Construction of vanadium electrolyte manufacturing facility begins Construction of Australian Vanadium’s (ASX:AVL) vanadium electrolyte manufacturing facility in WA has begun. Australian Vanadium has appointed engineering group Primero Group, a subsidiary of NRW Holdings (ASX:NWH), to construct the facility with most long lead items now received. Further, experienced operations professional Simon Rough has been appointed to safely manage the facility through construction and into production. His extensive experience in vanadium processing and sulphuric acid production makes him a perfect fit to lead the team to successful production of high-quality electrolyte. First gold pour imminent at East Menzies First gold pour is expected this quarter at the Maranoa deposit within Resources & Energy’s (ASX: REZ) East Menzies gold project in WA. Following the successful capital raising in May, REZ and Lamington Minerals have lodged a mining proposal with the WA Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DMIRS) in mid-June 2024. FOLLOWING months of uncertainty surrounding the future of the Bronzewing gold project, Metaliko Resources has entered an agreement to acquire the project from the administrator of Navigator Resources. Metaliko entered a $4.82 million deal to purchase all of the shares in Navigator Bronzewing – a wholly-owned subsidiary of Navigator Resources – resulting in 100 per cent ownership of the Bronzewing project in the south Yandal gold belt of WA. Navigator produced gold from the project until May 2013, when the operations were put under care and maintenance.
