Regis rolls on despite COVID

REGIS Resources is not expecting the current coronavirus restrictions across Australia to cause any significant delays to the McPhillamys project in NSW. Of five major approval phases, three remain, including a response to submissions by Regis (expected mid-2020), assessment by the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment, and an independent planning commission public hearing decision. The final decision for the McPhillamys project is expected in the first half of 2021. In its latest quarterly report, Regis managing director Jim Beyer said the operation performed solidly despite the pandemic, producing 86,300oz of gold for the period. While down on the December quarter’s 90,849oz, cash flow from operations increased by $7.4m to $107.4m and the company’s full-year guidance remains unchanged at 340,000-370,000oz.…

THE gold continues to glitter for WA-based miner Regis Resources. Regis Resources’ shares climbed to a historic high of $5.76 in February, after the Duketon gold project owner announced a half-year profit of $80 million. While the price hasn’t sustained that level, it’s hovered between the $5 and $5.50 mark ever since, allowing the company to return more than $40m to shareholders in the form of an 8¢ a share interim dividend. The gold miner generated $126.5m in operating cash flows between July 1 and December 31 last year on sales of 186,726 ounces of gold and revenues of $317.2m, with EDITDA of $146.4 million at a healthy margin of 46 per cent. Moving into FY19, the good news is set to continue with an expansion underway at Rosemont and DFS work advancing at McPhillamys. WA-based gold miner Regis Resources has a busy year ahead, with plenty of upside across its portfolio after a record June quarter. For the final three months of FY18, the miner produced 92,008 ounces of gold, bringing its annual production up to 361,373oz at an all-in-sustaining cost (AISC) of $901/oz.
