Mt Lindsay Continues To Produce “Exceptional” Tin Intersections For Venture

Venture Minerals (ASX:VMS) says new drilling at the Mount Lindsay Tin-Tungsten Project in Tasmania, Australia continues to deliver “exceptional” intersections of high grade mineralisation whilst targeting high grade zones within the existing Main Skarn deposit. The intersection in ML343M included a high-grade zone of 23.2 m @ 1.6% Sn and 0.03% WO3 from 75.8 m or 3 m @ 4.1% Sn and 0.1% WO3 from 90 m. The drill program, designed to confirm the continuity of high-grade zones and provide additional metallurgical samples, is part of the company’s updated Feasibility Study for an underground mine. AUS Tin Mining Limited is well on the way to achieving its goal and vision of becoming a major Australian tin producer. In April this year, the company recommenced production at the high grade Granville Tin Project north of Zeehan in Tasmania, and intends to expand the life of the mine through exploration. Aus Tin Mining chief executive Peter Williams was pleased that production is ramping up at the project. “Having completed construction of the new tailings storage facility (TSF) in January 2019, and the transition to owner mining in March, Level 2 operations are ramping up, and recently the Company commenced processing of skarn material that is the predominate ore source at the mine,” Mr Williams said. BY ELIZABETH FABRI TASMANIA’s resources sector has bounced back from the sting of low commodity prices, with State mining royalties more than doubling year-on-year in FY17 and new projects and mine reopenings signalling renewed confidence for the region. State Resources minister Guy Barnett said the industry was “rebounding strongly” with mining and minerals processing accounting for 50 per cent of the value of the State’s exports. “I can also reveal as a further sign of growing confidence in the industry that $39.4 million was collected in mining royalties in 2016-17; an impressive increase on the $15 million received in 2015-16,” Mr Barnett said.
