WA Government funds to unlock new exploration opportunities The WA Government has announced that it is allocating $11.2m in funding to the successful applicants of its 31st round of the Exploration Incentive Scheme (EIS). The EIS aims to encourage exploration for the long-term sustainability of the resource sector by helping overcome the financial barriers that early-stage projects often face. The latest round of funding will support 77 projects across WA, 49 projects of which will receive a total of $7.8m to support drilling programs. BHP’s $1.5b deal with Aurizon BHP (ASX: BHP) owned Copper SA has partnered with Aurizon to deliver integrated rail, road and port logistics solutions to support its South Australian copper operations. Under the agreement, the transport of copper concentrate and cathode from the Olympic Dam, Carrapateena and Prominent Hill mines will shift to rail between Pimba and Port Adelaide. South Australian based Symons Clark Logistics, already a trusted BHP partner, has been sub-contracted by Aurizon to deliver the road transport component between Pimba and the mine sites. Lincoln advances uranium exploration Lincoln Minerals (ASX: LML) has signed a Native Title mining agreement with the Gawler Ranges Aboriginal Corporation and Traditional Owners to progress mineral exploration at its Jungle Dam uranium prospect in South Australia. The agreement grants Lincoln access to exploration licence (EL) 5942 and has been formally submitted to the South Australia Energy and Mining Department for registration.
