Bellevue Gold Limited (ASX:BGL) has completed construction of the 343-person camp at its Bellevue Gold Project in WA.

The European Commission is proposing stronger rules on ambient air, surface and groundwater pollutants, and treatment of urban wastewater. This in line with the World Health Organisation (WHO)’s objective of zero pollution by 2050. The proposal is in response to the dire statistics of 300,000 Europeans die prematurely each year from air pollution with fine particulate matter (PM2.5) mentioned as a key focus area. Current air quality standards within the EU area will be reassessed in line with latest scientific evidence as well as societal and technological developments. Fortescue Metals Group’s diesel usage would exceed one billion litres annually in just a few years if it did not pursue greener energy sources. The staggering figure was highlighted by the company’s Director of Sustainability Alison Terry at WA Mining Club’s May luncheon. Ms Terry said this is why FMG was moving “very rapidly” towards green energy, and particularly green hydrogen, initiatives. Liebherr-Australia celebrated 100,000 hydraulic hose assemblies manufactured in its Adelaide-based Head Office complex in September, a milestone that represents the growth and success of the new facility since it was commissioned in 2014. Situated in the 12,000m2 state-of-the-art National Distribution Centre, the workshop manufactures around 17,000 high-pressure hydraulic hose assemblies each year for the entire Liebherr Mining range of excavators and dozers. The hoses are both assembled and tested in the facility to stringent OEM and international standards, including MDG 41 and ISO 9001. Although this milestone represents the hoses manufactured in the new facility, hose production for Liebherr started in Australia in 1999, with mass production in 2006. BENGALLA Coal in NSW’s Hunter Valley has literally provided new hope for the New Hope Group. A promising performance from the mine has been the main reason for solid coal earnings for New Hope in the past year, driven mainly by increased production. The company generated a revenue of $618m in the six months ending January, which was in line with its income in the prior corresponding period. New Hope managing director Shane Stephan said this was largely due to the success of Bengalla, in which New Hope has 80pc interest.
