Primobius receives Mercedes-Benz refinery purchase order Neometals’ (ASX:NMT) joint venture company Primobius has received a purchase order from Mercedes for a hydrometallurgical refining hub. A 50:50 joint venture between Neometals and SMS group, Primobius is an incorporated battery recycling company commercialising a patented lithium-ion battery (LiB) recycling process. Valued at $30.8m (€18.8m) the purchase order was awarded as part of a cooperation agreement with Mercedes. Under the agreement, Primobius is responsible for the engineering, equipment supply and installation of a 2500tpa fully integrated, closed loop Mercedes LiB recycling pilot plant. The 404.2 carat, Type IIa D-colour diamond was found at the Perth-based company’s Lulo diamond project in the Lunda Norte province. It is the twenty-seventh biggest recorded diamond in the world and the largest discovered by an Australian company. PERTH-based uranium producer Paladin Energy has spilt radioactive chemicals in a road incident while closing down its Kayelekera mine in Africa. The project – 52km west of Karonga in northern Malawi – was placed on care and maintenance in an effort to stem global uranium supplies and drive demand upwards in the face of a market price slump. However while completing the site’s last shipments, a truck carrying a single container of uranium oxide concentrate toppled sideways, as the driver reportedly failed to negotiate a curve in the road. Kaiser Reef to divest NSW exploration assets for up to $3.62m Kaiser Reef (ASX: KAU) is set to divest its NSW exploration assets to unlisted public company HearMeOut for up to $3.62m. Kaiser Reef is divesting the Stuart Town group of tenements as well as the Macquarie North tenements. Although the company considers the tenements to be highly prospective for gold mineralisation, it will focus on near-term gold mining growth opportunities across its Victorian production and exploration assets.
