Modular evaporation, crystallisation and carbon dioxide capture systems

JordProxa delivers custom-engineered solutions and modular processing plants for a wide range of critical minerals, integrating evaporation, crystallisation, advanced water treatment and purification technologies. For Iluka’s Eneabba project, JordProxa has been awarded two major packages: ten modular evaporation plants and carbon dioxide capture plant package.

Each evaporation plant is designed as a standalone module to prevent cross-contamination and support solvent extraction performance. Using falling-film evaporators powered by mechanical vapour recompression, these systems minimise energy consumption while protecting sensitive rare earth chemistry.

JordProxa is also supplying the carbon dioxide capture system, which absorbs carbon dioxide from boiler off-gas using an aqua-ammonia process to generate ammonium carbonate/bicarbonate under controlled conditions. The system incorporates gas conditioning, high-efficiency absorption and modular ancillary skids, supporting both emissions compliance and downstream process chemistry.

Beyond Eneabba, JordProxa delivers crystallisation, evaporation, brine treatment and advanced water treatment systems across the battery and critical minerals sectors, with a strong emphasis on modular construction, energy efficiency and operational reliability.

With more than 250 project references spanning decades of experience, JordProxa offers a comprehensive range of capabilities and services, from project inception to completion and beyond. The company has a fully equipped laboratory to undertake test work, continually optimising outcomes.

JordProxa’s global footprint includes engineering and execution hubs across Australia, South Africa, India and Europe, enabling agile delivery and localised support, and a portfolio of reference projects in the battery metals and critical minerals industries in Australia, Europe, South America and North America.

Off-gas treatment, acid roast scrubbing and process equipment

Jord International provides engineered process equipment and emissions-reduction technologies tailored to the demanding conditions of rare earths refining. For the Eneabba refinery, Jord is delivering an acid-roast kiln off-gas scrubber system capable of controlling sulfuric acid, sulfur trioxide, sulfur dioxide, hydrogen fluoride and particulate emissions, ensuring regulatory compliance and enabling the recovery of sulphuric acid for reuse in the production process.

Jord International also specialises in a wide range of clean air systems, dewatering and flotation technologies, heat exchange and recovery solutions for the minerals, chemical, power and oil and gas industries. With extensive experience across different complex process environments, Jord International contributes critical engineered equipment to rare earths projects throughout Australia and internationally, strengthening the resilience and capacity of emerging supply chains.

Precision-engineered mixer settlers for solvent extraction

Jord Energy specialises in the design and supply of mass-produced modular plant. For Eneabba, this includes 196 quantities of solvent extraction mixer-settler packages, an essential stage in producing high-purity rare earth oxides. These packages form part of a critical hydrometallurgical system requiring reliability, precise phase separation and materials engineered for aggressive chemical environments. Jord Energy brings deep technical expertise to deliver engineered solutions that meet the demanding requirements of the critical minerals industry.

The company implements strict QA/QC processes, full materials traceability and advanced metallurgy selection, including super duplex stainless steel for challenging stripping conditions. By aligning manufacturing schedules with site installation sequencing, Jord Energy supports seamless integration into the overall construction program, delivering an equivalent of one package every one and a half days throughout the manufacturing cycle.

Outside Eneabba, Jord Energy extends its expertise to tanks, lubrication, hydraulic, fluid transfer modules, as well as balance of plant for the resources industry.

Modularisation provides certainty

The Jord Group has extensive experience in delivering modularised process plants. Pre-assembled modules offer significant advantages over a traditional stick-build approach. Each module is fabricated and tested in a controlled workshop environment before being packaged, transported to site and installed quickly with reduced site labour.
