Pump up your profits…not your tyres

Tyre damage has a way of chewing into your profits far quicker than dropping commodity prices. We’re still digging more out of the ground than we were a decade ago and as a result, those big haul trucks are wearing out tyres at an increasing rate.
Using a Broons Grid Roller combined with their unique Box Grader Blade will enhance the surface of your haul roads, waste dumps and pit floor, dramatically reducing tyre failure and premature wear, rapidly improving your bottom line.
For more than 50 years, the Adelaide based crushing and compaction specialist, Broons, has been at the forefront of roller manufacturing in Australia. Their widely used 14 tonne Grid Roller is the most cost-effective way of minimising destructive tyre wear from hard sharp rocks. Delivering 24/7 service to maintenance crews who comb your mine site dealing with the tyre issues, using a Broons Grid Roller is a bonus not a cost, slashing downtime by avoiding slashed tyres.
The standard machine weighs in at around 14 tonnes but they’ve also got a larger dual unit for those really tough sites. It’s the largest available in the world and this massive 28 tonne Grid Roller has four self-cleaning grid rings to ensure maximum productivity – twice the width and twice the weight. It’s been specially developed with the mining industry in mind and is ideal for the maintenance of mine haul roads and tip heads.
Towed at around 10kph, a Broons Grid Roller can reduce those stray rocks to a size less likely to cause expensive damage and provide a smooth running surface on pit floors and waste dumps. Combined with using their Box Grader Blade, cleaning up spillage on haul roads and waste dumps is quick and easy.
Several hectares can easily be covered in a single shift making it an economical solution to an expensive problem. Maintenance on a Broons Grid Roller is very low, so running costs are well down on alternative methods – none of which are specifically designed to handle the tough conditions found on a mine.
“Considering we’ve been building Grid Rollers for well over 50 years, it never ceases to amaze me that new people are still ‘discovering’ our Grid Rollers and putting them to good use”, says Broons Director, Stuart Bowes.
Towed Grid Rollers and their Box Grader Blade are an integral part of the Company’s class-leading crushing and compaction product range.
Popular throughout Australia and overseas, mines have reported up to a 50% reduction in tyre damage with the implementation of a Broons Grid Roller, back up with operator training and industry leading after sales service.
