Components can be received, inspected, measured, scoped, repaired, machined, restored, finished and prepared for return — all within one integrated facility. This gives customers a controlled pathway from initial assessment through to completion, backed by experienced tradespeople and technical personnel who understand the realities of heavy industrial work.
Central to that capability is the scale of the workshop itself. With 125t under hook, 52t of onsite cranage, and a heavy-duty CNC platform anchored by a Soraluce floor mill and borer — 10m of travel, 3.2m of vertical capacity and a 40t rotary table — J&S is equipped to handle large, complex components with confidence.
This is backed by CNC boring, milling and turning. Vertical boring to about 2.7m in diameter and turning to 6m lets the team machine oversized components, long shafts, tubular assemblies, precision bores and critical internal features, all inhouse.
Technical accuracy is reinforced by advanced metrology and experienced personnel. Components can be dimensionally verified, digitally documented and assessed against their application, condition and service requirements. Where drawings are incomplete, unavailable or outdated, J&S has the knowledge and capability to develop accurate repair, modification or replacement pathways without compromising fit, function or performance.
Beyond machining, J&S integrates services critical to quality rebuild outcomes. Thermal metal spraying restores worn journals and critical surfaces. Controlled stress relieving supports structural integrity in high-load components. In-house abrasive blasting and industrial coating provide final protection and presentation, ensuring components leave the facility ready for service.
