Stage two metallurgical testwork begins at Canegrass Viking Mines (ASX:VKA) has engaged ALS Metallurgy to undertake stage two metallurgical testwork from 29 samples taken from the Canegrass battery minerals project in WA. Samples come from a recent 7500m drilling program which was undertaken to infill and extend the main mineralised zones as well as assess new target areas. This drilling program was successful in that it expanded the mineralised zones and confirmed the continuity of mineralisation. This stage two testwork is aimed at assessing the metallurgical properties on areas assessed by this recent drilling as well as producing a vanadium pentoxide flake. ASX-listed explorer Crusader Resources has progressed towards full production rights at its newest mining venture, the Posse Iron Ore project, after receiving a full environmental licence for the Brazil-based project. Lying 30km from Belo Horizonte in the country’s east, Posse Iron Ore has operated under a trial mining licence since opening in March which restricted throughput at the mine to 300,000 tonnes of ore per annum. However, six weeks after the mine’s first production, Crusader was granted a combined preliminary and installation licence for environmental approval of its 100 per cent owned iron ore project by Brazil’s Minas Gerais State Environmental Council, COPAM, enabling it to apply for complete mining rights and ramp-up production to full capacity. Antipa in $60m farm-in deal ANTIPA Minerals (ASX: AZY) has entered into a $60m farm-in agreement and exploration joint venture agreement with gold miner Newcrest. The agreement covers the southern part of Antipa Minerals’ 100pc-owned exploration ground in the Paterson province of WA, which will now be known as the Wilki project. The Wilki project abuts Newcrest’s Telfer mine for gold and copper and its O’Callaghans deposit. Under the deal Newcrest has the option to acquire a 75pc interest in the joint venture for Wilki. Also, Newcrest has entered into an agreement with Antipa Minerals to acquire a 9.9pc shareholding in the Australian company through a $3.9m share placement.
