REMA Tip Top has received a bolster to its partnership with Monodelphous as the mining services giant awards it a $1.2m contract in the Pilbara, WA.

Rema Tip Top will provide belt splicing capabilities for five conveyors, including overland and run of mine conveyors connecting Rio Tinto’s West Angelas Deposits C and D with its existing process plant and stockyard.

REMA TIP TOP Asia Pacific chief executive, Benedikt Schneider, said that Rema Tip Top prides itself on its ability to provide best in class services.

“This new contract with Monadelphous speaks to their trust in our ability to get the job done on time, to specification and with safety performance of paramount importance,” he said.

Rema Tip Top is Australia’s only RTO that can train its own people as well as developing skilled workers from across the materials processing industry.

“We take our role of being an expert in conveyor installation, repair and servicing very seriously,” said Mr Schneider.

The West Angelas iron ore mine, owned by Rio Tinto, in the Hamersley range is 110 km northwest of Newman, WA.

Monodelphous has been contracted by Rio Tinto to supply and install structural, mechanical, piping and electrical and instrumentation work associated with the construction of the new iron ore facilities, as well as modifications to existing plant.

The work is expected to be completed in April 2021.
