Rineheart nearly doubles Arafura stake  Gina Rinehart’s Hancock Prospecting has committed $125m to Arafura Rare Earths (ASX: ARU) as part of a recent $425m capital raise, bumping Rinehart's holding to about 15.7%.  The capital raise brings Arafura closer to the full funding of $2.3b required for the development of its Nolans rare earths project, located 135km north of Alice Springs in the Northern Territory. ICMM reports tailings compliance lower than anticipated The International Council on Mining and Metals (ICMM) has published its 2025 tailings progress report, detailing how companies are upholding the Global Industry Standard on Tailings Management (GISTM). The report collates data from members’ individual disclosures made in 2025, offering a transparent snapshot of collective progress towards full conformance as well as case studies of implementation efforts and wider work to reduce or eliminate tailings. Speewah: Australia’s first fluorite project progresses Tivan (ASX: TVN) has formed an incorporated joint venture (IJV) with leading Japanese trading house Sumitomo Corporation. The IJV is working to develop, finance and operate the Speewah fluorite project in the Kimberley region of WA. This coincides with rising interest in the mineral after fluorine was added to Australia’s critical minerals list in late 2023.
