Say Hello To Your New Mate – Geographe announces the Ball Stud Bearing Installation & Removal Tool (BSBIRT)

BSBIRT BSRT

Geographe has announced the upcoming launch of its latest Specialised Tooling™ innovation — the Ball Stud Bearing Installation & Removal Tool (BSBIRT).

Available in Australia from January 2026, with international release plans to follow, the BSBIRT is purpose-built for the mining industry’s haul truck maintenance needs. It delivers a safer, faster, and more reliable solution for removing and installing stubborn ball stud bearings on Caterpillar 785, 789, and 793 haul trucks. Purpose-built for tough mining environments, the BSBIRT delivers measurable improvements to fleet uptime and technician safety.

Raising the Standard for Haul Truck Maintenance

Geographe announces the Ball Stud Bearing Installation & Removal Tool (BSBIRT)

Building on the success of Geographe’s original Ball Stud Removal Tool (BSRT) shown alongside the all new BSBIRT in the main image, the BSBIRT integrates hydraulic pressing technology with an ergonomic design to address long-standing maintenance challenges across mine sites. Capable of applying up to 10 tonnes of force in tight spaces, the tool safeguards haul truck steering and bell crank assemblies by minimising the risk of component damage.

Safety, Speed, and Reliability

Western Australian field trials and industry feedback have demonstrated the BSBIRT’s impact: maintenance teams have reported major reductions in job time, improved safety by eliminating higher-risk techniques such as hammering the bearing leading to reduced noise exposure for their maintenance crews.

Australian made from forged, heat-treated high-tensile alloy, the BSBIRT withstands repetitive high-pressure use, ensuring durability and long-term reliability. When paired with a Geographe Ball Stud Removal Tool (BSRT), maintenance teams recorded over 90% time savings in bearing removal and replacement processes.

Tested and Ready for Australian Mine Sites

Launching in January 2026, the BSBIRT joins Geographe’s proven range of Specialised Tooling™ and Enhanced Performance Parts™. Designed for the unique demands of mining operations, it helps sites improve cost efficiency, safety outcomes, and equipment availability — keeping haul trucks operating at optimal capacity.
