Black Cat Syndicate (ASX: BC8) has received approval to commence underground mining at Myhree gold deposit.

This will follow the completion of the sites open pit later this year.

The project’s underground deposit currently compromises a mineral resource estimate of 815kt at 4g/t of gold and remains open at depth.

The company is progressing multiple WA projects as part of its ‘more gold soon strategy’.

Black Cat’s managing director Gareth Solly said that the approval provides optionality for Kal East and that mining approvals for other deposits are expected soon.

“With Lakewood running well, and the open pits ahead of schedule, we are looking forward to a smooth transition to additional mines, as we continue our more gold sooner strategy,’ he said.

Kal East comprises of an estimated 650km2 extremely prospective earth with a resource estimate of 18.8Mt at 2.1g/t of gold for 1.29 Moz.

The company is anticipated to progress surface drilling from April until July of this year at Kal East, including open pits at Myrhee and Boundary taking place between April and October.

Drilling and exploration are also expected to be ongoing at the Paulsens site, 105km south of Pannawonica in the Ashburton region of WA, from now until late this year.

Black Cat have been advancing Paulsens ever since it acquired the asset from Northern Star Resources (ASX: NST) in 2022.

First gold from Paulsens was delivered early this year, following the company’s successful refurbishment of the site’s process plant.
