This just in: The Buddie System
The Buddie System, an innovative wireless alert device, is poised to revolutionise safety procedures for dogmen across the globe. Conceived by experienced dogmen, Jade Harris and Gary Panagiotidis, this tool is designed to enhance existing safety measures based on their first-hand experiences.
Traditionally, Dogmen and crane operators have relied on two-way radios for communication.
However, these devices are not always dependable. Batteries can die, signals may fluctuate and frequencies can unpredictably change. If the device becomes unreachable, it poses a significant challenge.
Under such circumstances, a whistle is the usual backup. However, in a noisy worksite, its effectiveness is often compromised.
Enter The Buddie System. This compact gadget, worn on a lanyard, is engineered to function when the two-way radios fail. It’s akin to the conventional whistle, but with a technological edge.
The system comprises a ‘Lanyard Device’ for the dogman and a ‘Crane Device’ for the crane operator. These are linked via a long-range (LoRa) radio frequency. In case of an emergency, pulling apart the Lanyard Device triggers an alarm and lights in the cabin, signalling the crane operator to halt and assess the situation.
The Buddie System also offers versatility. It can be purchased individually to accommodate your specific needs. The system also has the ability to pair up to 10 lanyards with a single Crane Device — beneficial for shifts that span from sunrise to sunset. Moreover, dogmen can interchange their lanyard between cranes, providing them with the flexibility to navigate around job sites.
The industry has been abuzz with the potential of The Buddie System, with plenty of interest from Tier One builders and crane hire companies.
“There already has been interest from crane hire companies because of the safety aspect of The Buddie System,” Gary said.
“Although there is a little initial outlay to purchase the system, this could be a large saving when The Buddie System prevents an accident.
“We are thinking the construction, infrastructure, mining, wind energy and oil and gas industries will embrace The Buddie System and implement its use in their standard operating procedures.”
“The conversations we are having with people high up in these types of organisations have been very positive with comments like ‘If the Buddie System was ready now, we’d take it right away.’”
With stock arriving in June, The Buddie System is ready to answer that call. Now you can enhance your safety procedures — simply and with confidence.
