Cultural heritage survey completed at Quartz Hill A cultural heritage survey with the Kariyarra Aboriginal Corporation (KAC) has been completed at the Quartz Hill project in the Central Pilbara of WA. As part of the drilling program, New Age Exploration (ASX:NAE) will target lithium, caesium and tantalum (LCT) pegmatites similar to other deposits in the area. The aim of the drilling is to test below target areas of lithium anomalism detected in soil samples. Green light for Regis-AngloGold’s Havana underground project In what has been a tumultuous few weeks for Regis Resources (ASX: RRL) over the McPhillamys project, good news has risen from the west with the Tropicana joint venture (AngloGold Ashanti 70%; Regis Resources 30%) approving the Havana underground project in WA. IRON ore company Gindalbie Metals has announced a $62 million equity raising to strengthen its balance sheet so it can contribute to the commissioning of its flagship Karara project in WA if necessary. The equity raising comprises a $40 million fully underwritten placement to institutional and sophisticated investors, and a proposed additional conditional placement of $22 million to major shareholder Ansteel that would allow Ansteel to maintain its 36 per cent interest in Gindalbie. The offer price for the institutional placement, which was successfully completed in early December, was 25.5 cents per share – a 13.6 per cent discount to the last closing price of Gindalbie’s shares before the placement.
