Ardea Resources signs MoU for Kalgoorlie nickel project Ardea Resources (ASX:ARL) has signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Sumitomo Metal Mining, Mitsubishi Corporation and Mitsui & Co for the Kalgoorlie nickel project (KNP). Sumitomo is a pre-eminent Japanese nickel-cobalt laterite development and production company and in partnership with Mitsubishi Corporation and Mitsui & Co — Japan’s two largest trading houses — will form the consortium. Westgold Resources to not increase Musgrave Minerals offer Westgold Resources (ASX:WGX) has decided not to increase its offer for the takeover of Musgrave Minerals (ASX:MGV) following a better offer from Ramelius Resources (ASX:RMS). In early June, Westgold announced an all-scrip off-market takeover offer for all the outstanding shares in Musgrave Minerals with an implied value of $177.3m or 30¢ per share. Southern Star Exploration signs agreement with TLaWC for Greater Fosterville exploration Southern Star Exploration has signed an agreement with the Taungurung Land and Waters Council (TLaWC) for future exploration work over the Greater Fosterville exploration licence application 7795 (ELA7795) in Victoria. The agreement defines the terms and conditions that Southern Star must adhere to when undertaking exploration on the part of the exploration licence that falls within TLaWC’s native title claim area. Primero Group has been awarded a $973m engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract with Northern Star Resources (ASX:NST) for its KCGM growth project in WA. The execution of the contract follows and extensive program of work to define the scope, cost and schedule of the project. Sugarloaf project funded by CRC grant iTech Minerals (ASX:ITM) has received $1.1m in funding for the Sugarloaf battery anode material project in South Australia. Of the grant, 46% will come from CRC-Projects and 54% will be funded by iTech and partners on an equal contribution basis. The Cooperative Research Centres (CRC) Projects Program supports industry-led collaborations between industry, researchers and the community. Northern Territory Government to co-fund extensive gravity program at Molyhil The Northern Territory Government will co-fund an extensive geophysical gravity program over Investigator Resources’ (ASX:IVR) Molyhil tungsten-molybdenum project.   Other than a broad spacing regional gravity program undertaken in 2006, no detailed gravity surveys have been completed at Molyhil or the surrounding area.   The results from this upcoming survey will provide high resolution gravity data over Molyhil and the surrounding area.   The 3400 gravity station program is expected to be completed by November.  Investigator managing director Andrew McIlwain said the company is pleased to have received the grant.   “Investigator are pleased to have received this...
