Northern Star reports successful resources and reserves update Northern Star Resources Limited (ASX:NST), a leading gold mining company, has announced its annual Mineral Resource and Ore Reserves update for the 12 months ending March 31, 2023. The company reported a group Mineral Resource of 57.4 Moz and Ore Reserves of 20.2 Moz, highlighting the value generated by the company's sustained exploration investment and offsetting mine depletion and divestments. Largest battery-electric underground mining truck begins trials at Sunrise Dam   An agreement between AngloGold Ashanti, Barminco and Sandvik has resulted in the trial of the largest battery-electric underground mining truck. The Sunrise Dam mine, owned by AngloGold, in WA will host the world-first trials as the Sandvik TH665B truck is to put to work in Australian conditions. As well as producing zero diesel emissions underground and generating 80% less heat, the truck is expected to be up to 25% faster on a 1:7 ramp than regular diesel trucks. Australian-based battery materials company Liontown Resources Limited (ASX: LTR) has entered into a legally binding sales and purchase term sheet with electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla for the supply of spodumene concentrate. The Agreement is for the supply of up to 150,000 dry metric tonnes (DMT) per annum of spodumene concentrate to be produced at Liontown’s Kathleen Valley Lithium Project in Western Australia and is expected to commence in 2024, representing approximately one-third of the Project’s start-up SC6.0 production capacity of ~500ktpa.
