Horizontal directional drilling specialist
How advanced HDD and depressurisation technologies are elevating infrastructure
As Australia’s industrial and resource sectors expand, the demand for high-capacity, non-disruptive trenchless engineering has never been higher. Operating across metropolitan WA, the Pilbara, the Goldfields and regional WA, as well as South Australiua, Perth-based specialist Boretech Contracting is uniquely positioned to meet this demand.
Fully certified to ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 standards, Boretech self-delivers horizontal directional drilling (HDD), non-destructive digging, trenching and civil utilities services backed by an owned plant fleet of more than 265 items.
Today, Boretech’s expanding drilling capabilities enable the company to tackle larger, increasingly complex pipeline projects requiring longer bore shots and larger-diameter pipes, focusing primarily on major water, power and gas utility installations.
Central to Boretech’s expanded operational range is the inclusion of the Vermeer D130S drill rig, which delivers a formidable 130,000 lbs (578.7 kN) of pull-back force. Equipped with the Vermeer D130S, Boretech now possesses the capability to run a Minconn Air Hammer, driving rapid, efficient penetration through highly abrasive hard rock strata.

This advanced tooling enables Boretech to support specialised mine depressurisation projects across the country. Depressurisation has become an increasingly vital solution for major mining companies seeking to extract trapped groundwater from deep within mine pit walls, successfully mitigating hydrostatic pore pressure, safeguarding slope stability and protecting ongoing pit operations.
Boretech has delivered more than 10,000m of DN355 to DN710 pipe installations under high-consequence assets — including live heavy-haul rail, autonomous mine haul roads, highways and congested urban corridors — for major clients including Water Corporation, Western power, Acciona, Fortescue, Roy Hill, Rio Tinto and BHP.
With capabilities extending to final ream diameters up to 1100mm in ground conditions ranging from soft sand through to granite and abrasive rock formations such as gabbro and dolomite, Boretech offers a complete single point of accountability. Its in-house capabilities encompass mud recycling, pipe welding and heavy transport, ensuring seamless execution across multi-shot programs.
By combining heavy-rig pulling force, specialized air hammer tooling, and strict Tier-1 HSE compliance, Boretech effectively bridges the gap between large-scale urban infrastructure requirements and high-stakes resource sector demands.
Whether installing major water and gas trunklines or executing complex deep pit dewatering across remote Australian mine sites, Boretech continues to set new performance benchmarks for trenchless pipeline construction and specialist drilling support.
