Anson Resources (ASX:ASN) has ramped up production at its demonstration plant and it now continuously producing lithium carbonate from brines from its Paradox lithium project.

The battery-grade lithium carbonate is being produced at Anson’s sample demonstration plant at its Lithium Innovation Centre in Florida.

The ramp-up in production marks a key step in Anson’s qualification process with potential offtake partners as it enables the company to provide samples to potential end-users as part of a structured product supplier qualification process.

The production rate is steadily increasing and is targeting 1tpa by the end of the year, sufficient to meet the needs of potential off-take partners.

Lithium carbonate produced from the plant will be supplied to vehicle manufacturers and their cathode active materials (CAM) partners for testing as part of the qualification process to secure long term off-take agreements.

Anson is now in continuing discussions with vehicle manufacturers and is required to provide samples for test work with their CAM providers in a typically three-stage supply qualification process.

Anson executive chairman and chief executive Bruce Richardson commented on the ramp up of production.

“It is very pleasing to see the demonstration plant fully operational and producing samples for electric vehicle manufacturers and their CAM providers to support our goal of signing off-take agreements,” he said.

“Samples of different quantities are required by various groups in the supply qualification process, and Anson continues to ramp-up production at its demonstration plant to meet demand.”
