Accelerate Resources (ASX: AX8) has executed a Native Title and Heritage Exploration Agreement (NTA) with the Ngarluma Aboriginal Corporation over the Prinsep lithium project in WA.

Located 15km south of Karratha, the Prinsep project is an advanced drill-ready exploration project and forms part of Accelerate’s Karratha lithium projects portfolio which encompasses 90km2 of prospective tenure.

To date, mineralisation has been defined across two subparallel pegmatite zones, each measuring a width of more than 1.8km and widths up to 60m. Up to 2.06% lithium oxide has been encountered from rock chip assays.

Field services company Terra Search has been contracted to complete an extensive soil sampling program over high priority areas of the Karratha lithium projects. Around 630 samples will be collected across the Prinsep, Mt Sholl East and Roeburne South projects to aid in Accelerate’s understanding of lithium distribution in the area.

Sampling is expected to take two weeks to complete with samples being sent to Labwest in Perth for ultrafine fraction analysis.

Accelerate chief executive Luke Meter commented on the agreement.

“We thank the Ngarluma Aboriginal Corporation for their support and assistance in finalising this agreement,” he said.

“The NTA provides Accelerate with the framework to complete the heritage and ethnographic surveys necessary to responsibly explore and drill the exciting walk-up drill targets at the Prinsep lithium project without disturbing areas of cultural significance.”

Accelerate Resources is now working closely with the NAC to finalise the timing of the heritage survey plus an ethnographic survey over Prinsep. Additionally, program of work applications has been lodged with the WA Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety for approval while consumables and infrastructure are sourced to ensure rapid deployment once all permit requirements have been completed.
