LOCAL Goodyear conveyor belt manufacturer, Veyance Technologies, has announced a $4.5 million investment in establishing a network of company-owned conveyor belt services, training and repair facilities.
This investment has confirmed ongoing company commitment to deliver owners their “lowest cost per tonne conveyed” benefit.
The service centres, based at major mining hubs around Australia, will assist with all types of conveyor belting, both surface and underground.
Veyance Technologies reported that its new conveyor service centres would provide global cutting edge technology in vulcanising, condition monitoring, training and conveyor belting maintenance.
These ‘greenfield’ service centres would be staffed by qualified Veyance staff and remove the company’s current reliance on local engineering firms, to optimise, maintain and service conveyor belts.
The initial centre in Mackay is already fully operational, with a second centre in the Pilbara, based in Karratha, in the process of coming on stream.
Veyance Technologies director sales and marketing – Asia Pacific Con Michaels said the main activities of the new service centres would focus on installation, maintenance, condition monitoring and training.
“This is not just high end value adding,” he said.
“It’s about local investment and training. We’ll cover steel cord, textile reinforced fabric and PVC belts in both surface and underground applications.
“It won’t matter whether the conveyor belting has been manufactured by Veyance or someone else. “We will be able to offer belt installation, splicing, repairs, pulley lagging, scanning, full certified training and lots of ‘hands on’ help for all belt owners.
“Our objective is to help our valued customers achieve lowest cost per tonne conveyed. We will also provide belt survey audits, conveyor inspections and design and selection advice as required.”
Veyance’s Australian head office and manufacturing facilities are based in Bayswater, Victoria. The company is the exclusive manufacturer and distributor of Goodyear Engineered Products worldwide.
