Broons’ Graderoll just keeps rolling out the door

With a history of delivering quality compaction equipment around the world for more than half a century, orders for Broons’ Graderoll Mono just keep on rolling out the door.

“We recently shipped 4 units to a contractor in PNG such is the wide appeal of this proven performer in rugged operating conditions,” said Broons Director Stuart Bowes.

“Eliminating the need for a dedicated roller operator, the Graderoll Mono can be fitted up to the rippers on just about any popular grader in a matter of minutes,” he said.

“Durability and minimal daily maintenance is not negotiable in the design of all our equipment.

“Anything that eliminates the need be working on the equipment saves time and eliminates risk for the operator, that’s the reason we’ve removed daily greasing by using some very creative engineering that’s been well proven over decades.”

The Graderoll Mono is ideal for maintenance grading of gravel roads where a quick sweep of the blade and some light compaction, all in one pass, helps bind the freshly graded surface. There’s no complicated electronics or hydraulics, just good solid Australian ingenuity and fabrication.

“Hundreds of these units are in operation throughout Australia and overseas,” Stuart said.

“Our fully integrated Roll Control System for both CAT and more recently, John Deere Graders, is an option where the operator demands a little more control over the compaction pressure applied by the Graderoll Mono.

“For those on a budget, our standard manual hydraulic control system is worth considering.

“Surface compaction is frequently overlooked when maintaining gravel roads in mines, often just relying on the heavy traffic to provide it.

“The focus is generally on simply grading the surface clean of spillage, removing corrugations and potholes along with achieving the correct cross fall for drainage.

“Running a Broons Graderoll on the back of your grader will see a vast improvement in binding that loose surface layer and reducing dust.

“It needs to be integrated into the overall road maintenance programme as an effective tool and should standard practice in every mine.”
