Sandvik has officially released the Toro TH663i I Gen2 underground truck, the latest evolution of its 63t haulage platform.
The updated truck incorporates more than 30 enhancements designed to improve reliability, productivity, operator safety and total cost of ownership in underground mining operations.
Rather than a complete redesign, the latest generation of the underground truck builds on years of operating experience with the Toro TH663i platform and incorporates accumulated improvements into the new model.
The new design features a 63t payload capacity, enhanced operator safety, advanced engine technology and premium cabin ergonomics to support operators in utilising the truck’s full potential.
The more than 30 updates cover multiple areas of the machine, including the engine, electrical, powertrain, software and structural systems and are designed to increase availability, enhance durability, improve serviceability and support a lower cost per tonne and total cost of ownership.
Sandvik Mining product line manager for load and haul Esa-Pekka Kantola says customers are searching for predictable performance that they can rely on.
“With Toro TH663i I Gen2, we have used years of underground operating experience to refine a proven platform and help customers improve productivity, increase availability and control their cost per ton,” he said.
The new machine can be combined with Sandvik’s digital and automation technologies, including My Sandvik Digital Services and AutoMine solutions.
The Toro TH663i I Gen2 was showcased at Sandvik’s Load & Haul customer day in Turku, Finland, on September 3 as part of the company’s Future of Mining 2026 event.
