iTech Minerals (ASX:ITM) has received $1.1m in funding for the Sugarloaf battery anode material project in South Australia. Of the grant, 46% will come from CRC-Projects and 54% will be funded by iTech and partners on an equal contribution basis. The Cooperative Research Centres (CRC) Projects Program supports industry-led collaborations between industry, researchers and the community. Initially, the grant will focus on the production of a high-grade graphite concentrate from Sugarloaf and then progress to purification and spheroidisation to produce uncoated purified spherical graphite. iTech is also working with The Sustainable Minerals Processing Group at The Future Industries Institute, University of South Australia and metallurgical specialists, METS Engineering. Juno Minerals (ASX:JNO) has executed a non-binding memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Southern Ports Authority (SPA) for access to capacity in the iron ore circuit at Esperance Port.   Under the MoU, Juno will work with the Esperance Port on key deliverables to seek an allocation of 1.5mtpa capacity through the iron ore circuit.   Logistics supply chain requirements to accelerate the development of the Mount mason direct shipping ore (DSO) hematite project is now complete.   Additionally, minor works were also identified at the Esperance Port to facilitate shed space and access, which will be designed and costed.   Production for the Mount mason DSO hematite project is planned at 1.35mtpa and while it is a smaller and higher cost producer compared…

The Northern Territory Government will co-fund an extensive geophysical gravity program over Investigator Resources’ (ASX:IVR) Molyhil tungsten-molybdenum project.   Other than a broad spacing regional gravity program undertaken in 2006, no detailed gravity surveys have been completed at Molyhil or the surrounding area.   The results from this upcoming survey will provide high resolution gravity data over Molyhil and the surrounding area.   The 3400 gravity station program is expected to be completed by November.  Investigator managing director Andrew McIlwain said the company is pleased to have received the grant.   “Investigator are pleased to have received this commitment from the Northern Territory Government, recognising an initiative that will support the advancement of the Molyhil tungsten project,” he said.  …

Mineral scanning technology company Orexplore Technologies (ASX:OXT) has secured two key contracts in the critical minerals sector. The first agreement with Green Critical Minerals sees the company extend their engagement for a further 2500m of core. This follows the successful completion of an initial order to scan 300m of core.  Both engagements have a combined value of around $226k and encompass scanning of graphite bearing drill core and the delivery of ore-sorting evaluation, grade proxy modelling and emerging graphitic flake analysis solutions using data captured by Orexplore’s GeoCore X10 hardware.  Orexplore’s GeoCore X10 scanner applies proprietary technology to investigate the properties of core samples.   It uses a high energy x-ray source to provide x-ray transmission (XRT) analysis for the…

Greenvale Energy (ASX:GRV) has begun the second phase of drilling at its Alpha Torbanite Project in Queensland.   All up, 25 HQ core holes and 15 open holes will be drilled. The core hole will aim to increase the size and confidence levels in the 18.6Mt Alpha mineral resource, while the open holes are designed to test the continuity of the upper and lower seams to the south and north of the deposit within EPM 27718.   The drilling program will also accelerate updated structural and geological modelling as well as provide key geotechnical date for mine planning and design work.   Drilling is expected to take around 55 days to complete with BG Drilling engaged to complete the 2000m…

Countrywide Hydrogen, a subsidiary of ReNu Energy (ASX:RNU), and Walkinshaw Automotive Group have signed a letter agreement for the development of hydrogen powered trucks and prime movers for the Australian market. Currently, left-hand-drive (LHD) fuel cell trucks are available in Europe and North America due to the scale of the markets, but no right-hand-drive (RHD) trucks are available in Australia. Under the agreement, the companies will work together to access the feasibility of delivering RHD fuel cell trucks throughout the country. Countrywide will build the trucks while Walkinshaw will supply them to the market. The companies will explore the importation of LHD fuel cell trucks and then convert them to RHD.
