Turning the valve on innovation

200mm AMBV Ball 014

Established in 2004, Delatite Valves has carved a niche in the valve manufacturing industry by delivering high-quality, Australian-made valve solutions tailored to meet the harsh demands of mining. It specialises in the design, manufacture, and global distribution of metal seated ball valves and globe-style control valves, ensuring optimal performance in high-pressure and high-temperature environments, and slurry applications.

At the heart of Delatite’s operations is a philosophy centred on saving clients time and money through trusted and proven valve solutions. This client-centric approach is evident in their hands-on methodology, which involves collaborating closely with customers from the initial design phase to delivery.

The company’s product portfolio is both diverse and specialised. Their metal seated ball valves are engineered for severe service conditions, offering high pressure and temperature resistance, as well as corrosion and erosion resilience. These attributes make them particularly suitable for mining applications, including autoclave isolation, slurry pipeline isolation, concentrate isolation, and tailings isolation.

In addition to ball valves, Delatite offers globe-style control valves designed for general-purpose applications, severe service conditions, cavitation control, velocity reduction, and noise reduction, thereby addressing a broad spectrum of industrial needs.

The driving force behind Delatite Valves’ success is Karst Kreun, who brings over 43 years of experience in providing valve solutions. His extensive background includes over a decade with major control valve suppliers globally and more than 30 years operating a valve supply company.

“We are proud to have developed a range of high-pressure, high-temperature, zero-leakage metal seated ball valves and control valves,” said Karst.

”This has positioned us as a leader in the valve manufacturing industry with a unique capability of meeting the technical and complex challenges faced in mining operations. Our advantage is that we are local and can supply customers with the specific valve they want, where they want it, when they want it, and in the material they want.”

Delatite’s manufacturing capability sees it produce valves in a range of sizes from 15mm to 650mm, with ANSI ratings of between 150 and 4500.

Karst highlighted, “We are accredited to ISO 9001 for the design, manufacture, and delivery of ball and control valves, which underscores our dedication to maintaining the highest quality standards. Our valves are manufactured from premium materials sourced from reputable suppliers, assigned a unique serial number for full traceability, and supplied with comprehensive documentation, including test certificates, Certified Material Test Reports, bills of materials, and instruction manuals. This meticulous attention to detail ensures our clients receive products that are not only reliable, but also well-documented for operational and maintenance purposes.”

Delatite’s commitment to continuous improvement is exemplified by their Continued Valve Improvement Program—an initiative that involves close collaboration with customers to enhance the reliability and lifespan of valves, thereby reducing downtime and maintenance costs.

“By focusing on solving valve problems with viable, ongoing solutions, we help clients achieve their commercial objectives, reflecting the company’s dedication to customer satisfaction and operational excellence,” said Karst.

In recognition of the company’s two decades of manufacturing excellence, Delatite celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2024, a milestone that reflects the company’s commitment to providing quality valve solutions.
