Mineplast Pro
The superior belt solution
Conveyor belts play a pivotal role in streamlining operations from extraction, processing and bulk transport. It is critical to have durable and reliable systems that can withstand the demands of the harsh conditions on site and ensure operational efficiency and reduce downtime.
International Conveyors Limited (ICL) has announced the launch of its latest innovation, the Mineplast Pro Solid Woven PVC Conveyor Belt. Designed to enhance safety and efficiency in the global underground coal and potash market, this belt is leading the class in durability.
With over four decades of expertise in manufacturing solid woven PVC fire-retardant, anti-static conveyor belting, ICL remains committed to exceeding industry safety standards while optimising operational longevity.
ICL operates two state-of-the-art manufacturing plants, with a combined annual production capacity of 1,125,800m of PVC belting. As an ISO 9001-certified company, ICL ensures complete in-house production — from yarn preparation and fabric weaving to compound mixing and belt finishing — maintaining full quality control at every stage.
The company’s laboratory is accredited under ISO ISO/IEC 17025:2017 by NABL, a Government of India promoted organisation, thus ensuring its commitment to rigorously testing each belt for physical durability, fire resistance and anti-static properties.
“We understand the critical safety demands of FRAS-rated conveyor belts which is why ICL has engineered the Mineplast Pro to not only meet but exceed AS 4606 standards while significantly extending service life,” ICL Australia country manager Mark Fishlock said.
“Built upon the success of our existing Mineplast belt, this next-generation solution incorporates an enhanced shuttleless loom-woven carcass to provide troughability from initial installation and an advanced PVC cover grade with an improved abrasion resistance of greater than150mm³ — a substantial improvement over the AS 4606 minimum standard of 250mm³.
“Additionally, we have increased the cover thickness to 3+2mm providing 50% more cover thickness over the standard 2+2mm cover belts.
“And finally, we have also incorporated RFID tags built into the carcass, which will provide standard information such as belt spec and batch number and also be customised by the client to include items such as install date, making it so much easier for mapping and monitoring of the belts.”
The Mineplast Pro is being introduced to help sites further extend belt durability and reduce maintenance cycles.
By increasing the longevity of conveyor belting, it will help to minimise underground service interventions and reduce manual risks — ultimately optimising operational efficiency.
A key function of the ICL Research & Development (R&D) wing is the continual testing of Mineplast products to ensure that the highest standards are met in conveyor belting, especially belting that is for use in underground applications. Its in-house dynamic testing processes ensure that every belt exceeds its promise of performance and life.
International Conveyors Australia Limited (ICAL) is the wholly owned subsidiary of ICL, established to market ICLs full range of solid woven conveyor products in Australia.
ICL is the second largest manufacturer of solid woven belting in the world and has a complete product range with the ability to make conveyors up to 2500kn/m width in strength and belt widths up to 1800mm. This is the widest solid woven product range available from any one company and with a manufacturing capacity in excess of 1 million metres per annum.
More than 90% of all ICL’s production is exported. Its products meet the highest international standards and ICL prides itself in not having a warranty claim for more than seven years.
ICL’s products has relevant Mines Department Approvals in Australia. ICAL will also market other high-quality products manufactured that are relevant to its client base and which maintain ICL’s image for high quality products.
