Australian Critical Minerals Prospectus released

The Australian Critical Minerals Prospectus was today released by the Federal Government, showcasing 52 high-quality, investment-ready critical minerals projects.

The Prospectus includes projects that are ripe for funding including mining, processing and value-adding opportunities across the critical minerals supply chain, all of which will create more employment for Australians.

Federal Resources Minister Madeleine King says Australia’s critical minerals are key to the world’s energy transformation.

“But we need to attract investment to get these minerals out of the ground, to process them here, to build the batteries, wind turbines and solar panels required make the switch to a lower carbon economy,” she said.

“This prospectus will help attract the investment we need to build new industries, create jobs and reduce global emissions.”

Federal Trade and Tourism Minister Don Farrell says Australia is on the cusp of a golden age in critical minerals development.

“We are actively engaging with international trade and investment partners to diversify out critical minerals supply chains,” he said.

““This Prospectus showcases many game-changing Australian critical minerals opportunities for international investors.

“We have an abundance of minerals with a strong regulatory environment, and a range of free trade agreements with countries in need of our resources.

“More international investment in critical minerals means more jobs, including value-adding jobs for Australian workers on these projects.”

Independent research has found that Australia continues to be the most attractive region globally for mining investment, with its secure economy, backed by strong exports, services, and a stable regulatory environment.

The Federal Government is actively supporting investment in critical minerals projects, including through the recently expanded $4b Critical Minerals Facility.
