Liebherr-Australia celebrates 100th bucket

The fabrication team at Liebherr-Australia’s Perth facility in WA has celebrated a major manufacturing milestone with the fabrication of its 100th bucket.
The facility began operation more than a decade ago, operating a small 12-person team and a single reused bearing block. This site has now grown to become one of the industry’s most trusted service hubs supporting Liebherr’s dozer, excavators and mining trucks across WA.
Today, the facility employs 25 workers, including five apprentices, and in addition to component rebuild and refurbishments, the team provides comprehensive aftersales support services including internal bloom inspections, general repair work and on-site technical advice.
Liebherr-Australia Perth fabrication supervisor David Shaddick says this milestone is more than just a number — it’s a symbol of sustained excellence.
“Each bucket has represented countless hours of planning, hands-on expertise and a shared belief in doing things the right way,” he said.
“‘Guided by the team’s core philosophy, ‘Do it once, do it right and make it last’, the team has delivered every rebuild to the highest standard, meeting strict timelines, budget targets and performance expectations.”
The team at the Perth facility have maintained an impeccable record with zero major reworks or failures in its history, highlighting the integrity of their processes and the strength of their quality of work.
Liebherr-Australia Perth service manager Jonathan Craig says this 100-bucket milestone stands as a testament to the team’s innovation, resilience and passion for delivering lasting value to customers.
“It also reflects Liebherr-Australia’s broader commitment to supporting the life cycle of mining equipment; maximising productivity, minimising downtime and ensuring sustainable outcomes across operation,’ he said.
