Lincoln advances uranium exploration

The company has extensive landholdings of uranium projects across the Eyre Peninsula including the Carinya and White Flat projects.

Lincoln Minerals (ASX: LML) has signed a Native Title mining agreement with the Gawler Ranges Aboriginal Corporation and Traditional Owners to progress mineral exploration at its Jungle Dam uranium prospect in South Australia.

The agreement grants Lincoln access to exploration licence (EL) 5942 and has been formally submitted to the South Australia Energy and Mining Department for registration.

Lincoln Minerals chief executive Jonathon Trewartha comments on the signing.

“Finalising this agreement marks a major milestone for our exploration efforts at Jungle Dam,” he said.

“We are pleased to be working in respectful partnership with the Gawler Ranges Aboriginal Corporation as we advance exploration in this highly prospective area.

Previous scout drilling at the site returned uranium intersections of up to 570ppm and have been supported by reinterpretation of historic gravity data and open-source geological information and data sets.

The identification of françoisite-cerium within the zone also suggests the inclusion of uraninite and coffinite within the deposit.

The enhanced geological understanding has accelerated the company’s drill targeting activities, inching Lincoln closer to commencing a drill program.

“While our work at Jungle Dam is in its early stages, we are committed to building a long-term, mutually beneficial relationship with the Traditional Owners,” Mr Trewartha said.

Lincoln discovered uranium mineralisation at the site in 2007 and has since identified two key mineralised zones with exploration indicating potential for higher uranium concentrations within the broader system.

The company also has copper, graphite, magnetite and other base metals assets across South Australia which are all strategically positioned to support the global shift towards electrification, decarbonisation and supply chain security.
