MinRes board shrinks

Mineral Resources’ (ASX: MIN) Justin Langer has resigned as an independent non-executive director of the MinRes board.
Mr Langer joined the MinRes Board in January 2023 and was most recently a member of the Nomination, Remuneration and People, Sustainability, and Ethics and Governance committees.
Mr Langer says it has been a privilege to serve on the MinRes board during a period of significant challenges and change for the company.
“MinRes is a strong and resilient business with a high-performance culture,” he said.
“I have been inspired by the dedication, passion and commitment of its people.
Since he joined the MinRes Board more than two and half years ago, Mr Langer has been appointed to senior coaching positions that require him to be overseas for extended periods.
In July 2023, Mr Langer was named Head Coach of the Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League and this year he was appointed Head Coach of London Spirit in England’s The Hundred competition.
These positions are in addition to Mr Langer’s commitments as a public speaker, Seven Network international cricket commentator, columnist with The West Australian and member of the West Coast Eagles Board.
Mr Langer last week travelled to the United Kingdom for the start of his first season at the helm of London Spirit.
“With my expanding commitments both in Australia and overseas, I am not in a position to continue to give the time and focus that I believe MinRes deserves,” Mr Langer said.
“I thank Chris Ellison and the board for their understanding of my position and I look forward to observing MinRes enter its next chapter.”
MinRes managing director Chris Ellison comments on Mr Langer’s resignation.
“I thank [Mr Langer] for the valuable contribution he has made during his time at MinRes,” he said.
“His passion and willingness to share his experience has had a truly positive impact on the business.
“He made it a priority to visit many of our sites across WA, meeting with frontline employees and hearing firsthand what matters most to the people who drive our success.
“[Mr Langer] brought insights that will continue to shape the way we think about our people. I wish him the best as he continues his distinguished career.”
MinRes chair Malcolm Bundey thanks Mr Langer for his service to the company.
“His perspective and leadership have been greatly appreciated, particularly during a period of significant change,” he said.
“The board is continuing the process to appoint additional Non-Executive Directors, with the assistance of external advisers.”
