SACOME CEO resigns

South Australian Chamber of Mines and Energy’s (SACOME) Rebecca Knol has stepped down from her role as chief executive to explore new career opportunities.
Ms Knol joined in 2016, serving as an advocate for South Australia’s resources sector.
SACOME council president Carl Kavina comments on Ms Knol’s resignation.
“Under [Ms Knol’s] leadership, SACOME has strengthened its role as a respected industry voice,” he said.
“SACOME extends its sincere thanks to [Ms Knol] for her energy and dedication. Please join me in wishing her success in her next chapter.”
The SACOME council has appointed respected industry leader Nicola McFarlane as interim chief executive.
According to SACOME, Ms McFarlane has deep sector knowledge, strong stakeholder relationships and substantial executive leadership experience to the position.
Ms McFarlane’s career includes steering large-scale hydrogen and decarbonisation initiatives as chief operating officer of the South Australia Office of Hydrogen Power.
“Nicola is well placed to lead the organisation, to ensure a smooth transition and her immediate appointment ensures continuity as the council commences a formal search for a permanent [chief executive],” Mr Kavina said.
The SACOME council looks forward to working with Ms McFarlane to continue advocacy efforts for its members within the resources sector across South Australia.
